ensuring all employees go home to their families after each workday.

As you might expect, safety around big rigs and crane equipment is something that must be taken seriously. At Buckner, safety is not something we just talk about. We have literally created a safety culture that is second to none in the heavy lifting and steel/precast erection industries. One reason we are able to provide our customers with such a superior safety record is that Buckner's most valuable resource is its employees. Many of Buckner's employees are second and third generation, creating a caring family culture. The resulting performances and attitudes have provided safe working environments for our employees, as well as a reputation among our customers and peers as a company that productively performs quality work. Owners, managers, and employees know that nothing is more important to Buckner than each person's safety. All Buckner employees share a personal responsibility for their own safety, the safety of their co-workers, and the associated crafts. Throughout all of our heavy lifting and industrial rigging jobs efficiency, precision, and skill are what we demonstrate every day. None of these benefits can accrue, however, unless we adhere to a strict dedication to safety.

The safety culture within the Buckner organization is based on the belief that all our work can be performed in an incident and injury free environment. Buckner employs mulitiple full time safety professionals as well as full time safety representatives on our larger heavy lifting and steel erection projects. The emphasis we place on safety is reflected in our Experience Modification Rate (EMR), which is one of the lowest in the industry at a .67 in 2015.

"BE&K Building Group is proud of the contribution CP Buckner recently made to the Boeing Project in North Charleston SC. This was one of the largest structural steel projects in the Southeast during 2010 and 2011 and Buckner had a plan from day one. The Building Group early on, recognized Buckner's commitment to employee safety and their ability to deliver quality work on time, despite a challenging schedule. In short, they said they would do it, and they did! Thank You"

Mark Manos, Senior HSE Manager BE&K Building Group, A KBR Company

"Buckner Companies is definitely one of the elite steel erection companies in the commercial construction industry.
Buckner is second to none in working hard to create the safest work environment where every one of their workers has the best possible chance of going home safe at the end of every day to spend with their families and loved ones.
I have watched Buckner take Safety from a "priority" to a corporate "core value" and it has made all the difference in the world to their culture and safety performance"
Steve Gelety, Jr. Bovis Lend Lease

"We continue to be impressed with Buckner's commitment to the safety of their employees, and the detail of the fall protection program. Their fall protection program sets the standard we use for all steel workers."
Scott Rittenhouse, CPCU, ARM , Specialty Construction Practice Leader The Hartford Construction Group

"As you know, safety is a core value at DuPont. It is our expectation that contractors working on our projects follow our safety procedures and do whatever it takes to prevent injuries and protect workers. It is good to see that Buckner has a corporate philosophy that nothing is more important than the safety of your employees and the craftsmen you work around. It is also evident that your employees embrace your commitment to safety in maintaining an injury free environment. This is exemplified by the many employees that you have working on site without even a first aid case.
The type of work that you perform has significant safety risk. With all the work that you have performed at heights, we have yet to see a single person not tied off when required. We appreciate your 100% 6 foot fall protection policy and the way that you enforce this most important issue of fall protection. As we all know, we seldom get a second chance from a fall from heights."
